school of philosophy nanpantan hall

Nanpantan Hall

has been a retreat centre for the ‘school of philosophy’ since 1986

From family home to a spiritual retreat centre.

The Hall was built in the 1870s for Edward Warner, who gave his name to Cartwright and Warner’s hosiery mill off Nottingham Road Loughborough.Nanpantan Hall was sold to William Byerley Paget before the century was out. The Hall and its 30 acre estate was donated to the School of Philosophy in 1986 and is now one of three retreat centres for the School of Philosophy an educational charity open to all. https://schoolofphilosophy.org/

The main subject explored in the School today is practical living philosophy, and mantra meditation; drawing on Eastern and Western traditions, which share the philosophy of unity (beautifully expressed below by Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Courses run at Nanpantan Hall

Courses are also offered in Economics with Justice. These aim to show how a more equitable distribution of wealth can be achieved.
