“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Nanpantan Hall is a charity and philosophy centre rooted in the teachings of Vedanta, Platonism and Meditation.
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life to support this space through thoughtful, hands-on service, caring for the land, the community, and the work of the school.
There are many ways to get involved, and you don’t need any special experience. You might help maintain the gardens, compost beds, and flower borders, or restore woodland paths and hedgerows as part of our rewilding work.
Some days may involve caring for the animals of Nanpantan, clearing overgrown areas, or repairing fences and stonework.
Indoors, there are opportunities to help with housekeeping, prepare shared meals, or support the running of philosophy evenings by setting up rooms, serving tea, and assisting tutors.
Whether you prefer quiet tasks or team work, working with animals or learning practical skills, there is something useful for everyone to do.
All roles support the wider purpose of the Hall to live simply, love deeply, and serve with care.
People come to volunteer for different reasons. Some want time in nature, others seek calm and focus, or a sense of contribution and connection.
All are welcome.
