The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Prince Arjuna and Lord Krishna, set on a battlefield. It’s a guide for living wisely, facing challenges with courage, and understanding who we really are beneath all the noise.
Anyone is welcome to join this study group regardless of whether or not they are attending the Philosophy courses and you do not have to have attended previously to gain something valuable even from a single session.
The course will be held on-line using Zoom. If you do not know how to use Zoom please let us know when you register.
There are 6 sessions on Sunday mornings during the spring, summer & autumn terms.
If you are interested in joining the group please let Stephen know as soon as possible on 01628 947848
CONNECTIVITY — by applying the principles of mindfulness and non-duality, we can become one with each other, and with nature. “All is one” becomes a real experience and not just a pipe dream.
INCLUSIVITY — by setting aside the personal ego, we can remove any sense of separation. In that way we can experience deep peace, well-being, and contentment.
UNITY — as we do so, the innate love within us all is revealed as we learn in good company to appreciate and realise the golden thread of being which unites us all, and the whole of creation.
All are welcome to enjoy this retreat, in which we will practice living together reducing the concerns and demands of the egoic self, by being fully present, and using mindfulness practices. Not only will fully engage with the natural environment, but we will also run this beautiful and comfortable country house using mindful techniques, as well as enjoying the great outdoors.
There will be music, yoga, creative activities, meditation, and plenty of time and space just to BE STILL and relish this most glorious of natural environments. Food will be vegetarian (not vegan).

Truth, Consciousness and Bliss
Weekend Retreat Nanpantan
June 27 – 29th 2025
“… I went with an open mind safe in the knowledge that I could simply pack up and go home if need be… I’ve had a lovely time and come away feeling I’ve found a framework for my spiritual practice that I’ve been missing for some years. So another leg in the journey begins.”
“Thank you for holding these retreats, they are magical and transformative!”
“A weekend like this is inspirational.”
By gathering in the serene Leicestershire countryside, participants will discover how actions can be performed in such a manner as to lead to a more spiritual way of life.
The primary objective is to put into practice what we have been learning in our classes.
A successful retreat relies entirely on the collective efforts of the students and tutors, who take charge of all aspects, including meal preparation and house cleaning. We rise early, pause regularly, study, and practise with the emphasis on service.
This retreat is open to all those students in the School who have completed the first three terms of study.

This is on a shared room basis with some single rooms available for those in genuine need. Bathrooms will be shared and all students should bring a bath robe or dressing gown.
